What is the partnership between Lingoda and Fēst?
The holidays are a special season, a time of giving, and a chance to hit the reset button and focus on what’s important to you. That’s why we encourage you to sharpen your language skills while becoming a master chef this holiday season. Lingoda’s new partnership is about bringing people together, and we believe that one of the most creative connections you can make is exploring cultures through food and language.
We’ve found a wonderful partner in Fēst, a virtual cooking school, to give you a great opportunity: complete a cooking class with Fēst and receive free group classes with Lingoda in the language of your choice!
“The holidays are a time to sit back and focus on the things that really matter, whether it’s learning a new skill or simply spending time with loved ones. Our partnership with Fēst allows individuals to utilize this time to dive deeper into other cultures, presenting them with the opportunity to discover new dishes and also learn a new language.” — Michael Shangkuan, CEO of Lingoda
Whether you want to learn a new language or how to cook scrumptious meals, a group setting and instructions by professionals deliver the best results and make the experience more fun!
Fēst is hosting two different cooking classes on December 14 and 16, 2021. In each class, 30 participants will learn to prepare a healthy menu inspired by either French or Spanish cuisine.
“Fēst is all about bringing people together. We’re happy to partner with a company like Lingoda that really understands the qualities at our core—creativity, curiosity, passion and empowerment. We’re excited to see who we can reach with our classes.” — Brit Obenauer, CEO and Founder of Fēst
If you sign up and complete a Fēst cooking class, you’ll be able to attend 4 free group classes with Lingoda in French, Spanish, German or English. See below for detailed instructions!
Fēst is pronounced ‘feast’ and bridges the gap between professional chefs and home cooks with virtual cooking classes. As a collective of chefs, pastry chefs and sommeliers, Fēst brings the knowledge, skill, talent and cooking instinct of professionals to home cooks. Their real-time video classes are guided, interactive and completely customizable for cooking-curious people of all skill levels around the world. Fēst is a woman-owned small business founded in 2019 and based in Charleston, South Carolina.
How to participate in the classes
Fēst is offering two virtual cooking classes in December 2021 with two distinct themes. Each class is about 90 minutes. Professional chefs will guide the 30 participants to create a tasty and healthy menu.
- A Night in Paris: This French cooking class takes place on December 14, 2021. You’ll learn how to make a French onion galette and a bistro salad and have the choice to adapt your menu to make it vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free.
- A Night in Mexico City: This Mexican cooking class takes place on December 16, 2021. You’ll learn how to make carne asada tacos with roasted tomato salsa and homemade tortillas. You’ll have the option to adapt the menu to a vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free diet.
Both classes will first give you an introduction to the recipe, followed by instructions to gather the required ingredients and equipment. A preliminary run-down of all the steps avoids surprises and crises. As you cook at home, the professional chef will watch and offer guidance and feedback until your dish is done and plated.
After you’ve thus nourished your body with a healthy meal, it’s time to train your mind! When you’ve completed the Fēst cooking class, you’ll receive a promo code which you can redeem for free Lingoda language classes of your choice. Your promo code is valid for 4 free group classes in French, Spanish, German, or English.
For more information about the classes and to sign up for either event, please visit here. The deadline for sign-ups is one hour prior to each event’s start time.
